An e-Visa is an official document, which you will need if you want to enter or travel within Turkey. For a selected list of countries, you no longer need to go through the classic visa process and an e-Visa is sufficient. An e-Visa is easier to get, and processing times are much shorter. You will find most of the information needed on your passport or travel documents. As an additional requirement, your travel documents should have an expiration date at least 60 days beyond the “duration of stay” of your e-visa.

One last point, in order to finish the application, you will also need a valid credit or debit card.

Some citizens of some selected countries, will be required to travel with an airline company which signed a protocol with the Turkish Foreign Ministry. Yes. If you wish to stay in Turkey longer than your e-Visa permits, you must apply at the nearest Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for a residence permit. Do note that an e-Visa is granted only for tourism and trade purposes. For any other types of visa, please check:

At the same time, if you overstay your e-visa, you might be asked to pay fines, may be deported or banned future travel to Turkey for a specific period of time.

If you arrive at a sea port and intend to visit the seaport city or nearby provinces for tourist purposes, you will be exempt from visa as long as you do not stay more than 72 hours.
